One of the greatest advantages of 3X3 basketball is the simplicity of the game. What used to be a simple half-court game of pick-up has now developed into an officially recognized sport. The International Olympic Committee, in recognition of the growing popularity of the sport, has announced the inclusion of 3X3 basketball as an official event in the Olympics! If you are wondering what the BENEFITS of playing 3 on 3 basketball are, consider this: Meaningful Touches: On average, players will get 40% more meaningful touches on the ball when compared to a full court 5 on 5 game. Teams are made up of 4 players so playing time, and therefore development is guaranteed. Global Players: Since the game requires the ball to be moved quickly, all players need to share in the control of the ball. This requires that players learn how to dribble with their head up and look to move the ball quickly. This is an important skill at all levels and positions. Offensive & Defensive Concepts: o The basic principles of offence used in 5 on 5 basketball are essential to the 3X3 game, including screens, pass & cut, screening away, drive and pass, etc. 3X3 is far more challenging to defend than a traditional 5 on 5 game. 3X3 will force players to develop their individual and team defensive skills. Speed & Agility: Due to the limitation of time and space, players are required to get the ball in play faster than the 5 on 5 game which provides for more shots, passes, rebounds, defending opportunities, and more! With our 8 week program, athletes will receive: Weekly Fundamental Skills Training, Games Scheduled Weekly, Season End Tournament & Team branded reversible jersey! *Please note that practice schedule is subject to change depending on facility*
